Motorists in Hull need to stay informed about ongoing and upcoming roadworks affecting traffic flow in the area
Hull: Roadworks can be a real pain for drivers, but they’re essential for keeping our roads in good shape. Once everything’s done, traffic should flow a lot better.
There are some long-term projects happening, but also a few shorter ones coming up. Hull City Council has put together a complete list of what’s going on.
For example, the A63 from St James Street to Market Place is undergoing a major overhaul. Expect lane and road closures until Spring 2026.
Then there’s the A63 Castle Street, which will have overnight closures until January 31. So, if you’re planning to drive that way, keep it in mind.
On Anlaby Road, there are telecoms works causing lane closures from January 9 to 13. Dairycoates Avenue is also seeing gas works with multi-way signals until January 17.
Ferensway is dealing with gas works too, with lane closures expected until February 14. Meanwhile, Guildhall Road is undergoing public realm works, which will last until October 31, 2025.
High Street is closed for public realm works until February 25, and Ilford Road will be closed until March 18, 2025, for new manhole construction and sewer connections.
Emergency works on Ings Road will cause lane closures on January 9 and 10. James Reckitt Avenue has gas works with multi-way signals until January 17.
Telecoms works on Lothian Way will have multi-way signals on January 8, and Reservoir Road will have two-way signals for maintenance on January 12.
