London: Aldi is making shopping even easier. They’ve added InPost lockers to 260 stores. This means more customers can collect and return online parcels while shopping.

Aldi first introduced these lockers in December 2023 at 22 locations. The response was great, so they decided to expand. Customers appreciate the convenience of this service.

Richard Thornton, Aldi UK’s communications director, said they want to make shopping seamless. Now, customers can grab their groceries and handle parcels in one trip.

Other stores, like Lidl, also have InPost lockers. They started using them back in 2020. Aldi isn’t stopping there; they’re innovating in other ways too.

For example, the Aldi store in Greenwich, London, has no checkouts. Customers simply pick items and walk out. But there’s a twist: they pay a £10 deposit to enter.

This deposit is a “pre-authorisation payment.” It gets deducted from the total at checkout. The store uses cameras to track what customers take, making payment automatic when they leave.

This unique store opened in January 2022. At first, shoppers needed to download the Aldi Shop & Go app to use it.
