Aldi’s snowplough delivery saves the day for stranded guests at the Tan Hill Inn
Richmond: So, you won’t believe what happened at the Tan Hill Inn! Aldi decided to step in and deliver supplies to folks stuck there because of the snow. They even used a snowplough to get everything through the drifts.
There were four guests and six staff members still holed up in the pub after being snowed in since Saturday. At first, it was all fun and games, but as the supplies started to run low, things got a bit tense. One guest even said, “We are fine, but we have run out of sausages.”
When Aldi heard about the sausage shortage, they jumped into action. They borrowed a local farmer’s snowplough to bring in some much-needed supplies. Talk about a hero move!
The delivery included wine, sausages, loo paper, and even some board games to keep everyone entertained. They even thought of the dog and sent treats for him too. How sweet is that?
Aldi’s spokesperson mentioned how they couldn’t just sit back while people were running low on essentials. They were thrilled to help out and get the party back on track.
Originally, there were 23 customers and six staff stuck in the pub, which is pretty high up in the Yorkshire Dales. They kept busy with snowball fights and movies, making some great memories along the way.
The pub manager, Nicole, was over the moon about the delivery. She said everyone needed a good pork sausage to lift their spirits. And you know what? She was right!
One of the guests, Angus, who used to work there, was super grateful too. He said, “Thanks to Aldi we can now stay for longer. Bring on the snow!” Sounds like they’re making the best of it!
On Facebook, the pub shared how the farmer, Harry, made it through the tough conditions to deliver the goods. It was a bit of a nail-biter, but he made it just in time.
Even though most guests were escorted out, a few remained, including some visitors from Germany. They were all in it together, waiting for the weather to clear up.
