Forfar: So, there’s this wild story about Albanian crime gangs flooding Scotland with super strong cannabis. They’re raking in millions, and it’s causing a real stir.

The Daily Record has been digging into this, showing how serious the situation is. Former MSP Graeme Pearson, who knows his stuff about drugs, says these gangs are shaking up communities.

He’s even suggested that energy companies should set up hotlines for police to catch spikes in electricity use, which are a big red flag for these cannabis farms.

Can you believe they turned Forfar Swimming Pool into a massive cannabis farm? Three guys ended up in jail for that one!

Each cannabis plant can make these crime bosses about £1,000. They’re operating from London and other cities, sending people to random towns in Scotland to set up shop.

Police Scotland has been busting these operations left and right, and they’ve found signs of previous grows in many places.

Some of these Albanian gardeners are just moving from one farm to another, sharing their skills. They’re coming over in small boats and lorries, which is pretty sketchy.

Then there’s Ilir Kasa, who got caught visiting two of his own farms. He thought he could get away with it, but nope! He was sentenced to eight years last February.

Kasa was running a major operation, and when police raided, they found over 350 plants and all the fancy equipment to grow them. It’s crazy how they turned an old TSB bank in Glasgow into a cannabis factory.

And it’s not just him. Adiol Hila and Indrit Saraci were also caught with a £1.7 million cannabis farm in Dundee. They came over from Albania and got tangled up with the wrong crowd.

They found around 3,000 plants in some industrial spaces. Hila got three years and four months, while Saraci got three years and nine months. That’s a hefty sentence!

Then there’s Arber Ketuka, who tried to escape from a property that was also a cannabis farm. He got caught after a meter engineer raised the alarm.

They found nearly 200 plants in two flats that had been converted for growing. It’s wild how these gangs operate.

And let’s not forget about Xhafer Furriku, who was in the UK for dental work and ended up helping with a £200,000 cannabis farm. He got three years for that!

These gangsters built a whole system for growing cannabis in the old swimming pool, with heat lamps and ventilation. It’s like something out of a movie!

Illegal immigrants were also involved, and they got jail time too. It’s a whole mess, and it’s clear these gangs are a big problem in Scotland.
