A resident in Edinburgh was shocked to find a man lurking in her garden captured on doorbell footage
Edinburgh: A resident was pretty shaken up when her doorbell camera caught a man hanging around in her garden at night.
This all went down around 9:30 PM on January 3, on Restalrig Road, which is just east of the city center. The homeowner, Lorraine, noticed the guy trying to mess with her washing line and even breaking a bird feeder.
It turns out, other neighbors have seen this same guy creeping around their homes too. The area is mostly residential, so it’s got folks on edge.
Lorraine shared with Edinburgh Live that he was trying to break her clothes line and then just smashed the bird feeder for no good reason. One of her neighbors, a young girl, said he even tried to get into her flat, and she had to shove him out the door.
In a similar vein, another local named Stephanie caught a woman stealing a Christmas wreath right off her front door. That too was caught on doorbell footage in The Calders, where the woman was seen checking out the wreath before snatching it and running off.
Stephanie couldn’t believe it, saying, “It’s the pure audacity. She’s right in front of the camera. It’s sad times when someone takes it upon themselves to steal a £20 wreath from Tesco.” She even called the woman’s behavior a “brass neck.”
Police Scotland has been contacted for more information on these incidents.
