South Shields: An adult was taken to the hospital after a medical episode. This happened outside Epinay School on Nevinson Avenue.

Emergency services arrived quickly on Monday afternoon. Northumbria Police and the North East Ambulance Service were on the scene. The Great North Air Ambulance helicopter landed on the school field.

The person who fell ill was outside the school. They were taken to Freeman Hospital by road. The ambulance service received the call at 2:48 PM.

A spokesperson from the North East Ambulance Service said they dispatched two ambulances and a clinical team leader. They were supported by the air ambulance and a doctor.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service confirmed they arrived within 15 minutes of the call. They worked with the ambulance service to assess and treat the patient.

Emergency services remained on the scene to ensure everything was handled properly. The situation was managed efficiently, and the patient received the necessary care.
