The person who fell ill was outside the school. They were taken to Freeman Hospital by road. The ambulance service received the call at 2:48 PM.
A spokesperson from the North East Ambulance Service said they dispatched two ambulances and a clinical team leader. They were supported by the air ambulance and a doctor.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service confirmed they arrived within 15 minutes of the call. They worked with the ambulance service to assess and treat the patient.
