Aaron Ramsey opens up about a fiery exchange with Robin van Persie after a match against Manchester City
Ramsey was chatting on a podcast when the host, Adamo, brought up a story from Theo Walcott. Apparently, Theo mentioned that Ramsey and Robin had a bit of a bust-up. Ramsey was surprised and laughed, asking, “How did you get this info?”
Adamo explained that Theo had shared the story on his own podcast. Ramsey then admitted they exchanged some words after he missed a chance to score. He was supposed to pass to Robin, who was wide open, but he ended up blasting the ball over the bar instead.
After the game, even though they had just beaten City, Robin was not happy. Ramsey recalled that Robin was chasing the golden boot, and it led to some tension in the locker room.
Walcott had also mentioned how heated it got, with players getting involved. Even Arsene Wenger tried to sneak away to let them sort it out themselves.
In the end, despite the spat, van Persie went on to have an incredible season, winning the golden boot with 30 goals. Not long after, he made a big move to Manchester United, where he became a club legend.
