A serious crash has closed the A64 in both directions near Welburn, causing significant delays. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
Malton: A major crash has caused the A64 to close in both directions. It happened around 4am, and the road is shut between Welburn and Hugh Hutton.
According to travel updates, the closure is due to an accident between the Welburn turn-off and A169 Old Malton. Thankfully, traffic is managing to cope, but the road has been closed since early this morning.
North Yorkshire Police mentioned that the road will be closed for a while. They shared on social media that this closure is because of a serious collision near Welburn village.
They’re setting up diversions and are asking drivers to steer clear of the area if possible. It looks like the A64 will be out of action for some time.
