A dramatic crash on the A56 in Rossendale prompts police to urge drivers to be cautious in icy conditions
Rossendale: So, there was this wild crash on the A56 the other day. A car totally lost control and swerved right across the road, hitting a barrier. It was a real mess!
Emergency services rushed to the scene on Tuesday evening after getting reports about the accident. When the police got there, they found the car had gone off course near Haslingden.
The impact was pretty bad, with the front of the car all smashed up and debris scattered everywhere. Someone even shared a photo online showing just how chaotic it looked after the crash.
Lancs Road Police took to social media to remind everyone to slow down and drive safely, especially with the icy conditions. They mentioned that luckily, no one got hurt and there were no other cars involved.
Just a heads up, the Met Office had issued a yellow weather warning for ice, which was in effect from 5 PM Tuesday until noon the next day. Drivers in Burnley and Rossendale were warned about black ice making things even trickier.
