Uttoxeter: A young man named Solomon Victory-Daly, who was known for his big heart, tragically lost his life after a night of partying. He mixed cocaine and alcohol, which led him to feel paranoid, thinking he was being watched. This erratic behavior had him wandering onto the A50, where he was struck by a lorry.
On that fateful night, calls flooded into Staffordshire Police from worried drivers who saw Solomon running in traffic and lying on the road. Sadly, before help could arrive, he was hit near a McDonald’s roundabout.
An inquest revealed that Solomon suffered severe chest injuries from the collision, with drugs and alcohol playing a significant role in the incident. Medical tests confirmed the presence of both substances in his system, which can dangerously amplify each other’s effects.
Before leaving his home, Solomon had taken cocaine and started to show signs of paranoia. His partner recalled him saying he felt like he was being watched. The coroner noted that while Solomon was under the influence, it was unclear why he ended up on the busy road.
Witnesses described his behavior as erratic, with him walking back and forth on the road. The coroner concluded that Solomon didn’t intentionally harm himself, but the combination of drugs and alcohol severely impaired his judgment that night.
