A police incident has closed the A30 near Redruth, causing diversions and delays for motorists in the area
Redruth: So, there’s a bit of a mess on the A30 this morning. The road is closed in both directions because of a police incident. It’s causing quite a headache for drivers.
The closure stretches between the A3047 near Pool and the A3047 close to Redruth. As of 8:30 AM, police are on the scene, and it looks like the road will be shut for a while.
Motorists are being rerouted via the A3047, but traffic is already building up on those detours. Inrix, the traffic monitoring site, is warning folks to expect delays.
National Highways confirmed the A30 is closed due to this police-led incident. They mentioned that the police are on-site and that it’s likely to take some time to resolve.
Inrix also noted that the eastbound side of the A30 is closed, with traffic queuing from the A3047 in Tolvaddon to the Redruth turn-off. Drivers are diverting through Pool, which is adding to the congestion. Plus, the New Portreath road is also shut because of the incident.
