You might be surprised to learn that many celebrities hail from Yorkshire, even if they don’t always flaunt their roots
Leeds: You might not know it, but Yorkshire is home to a ton of famous folks. Some of them were born here, while others just spent a bit of time in the area. Either way, they’ve got Yorkshire roots!
Let’s take a fun look at some of these celebs you might not associate with Yorkshire. We’re not talking about the super famous ones like Patrick Stewart or Judi Dench. Nope, we’re diving a bit deeper.
How about Julian Barratt? He’s the guy from The Mighty Boosh, and he’s from Leeds. Then there’s Arthur Brown, the psychedelic rock legend from Whitby. And don’t forget David Coverdale from Whitesnake, who hails from Saltburn-by-the-Sea.
Sir Tom Courtenay, a classic British actor, was born in Hull. He’s done some iconic films like Doctor Zhivago. And Adrian Edmondson, known for his wild roles in The Young Ones, is from Bradford. He had quite the rebellious streak in school!
