A young boy was threatened and robbed of his new bike in Cwmbran, leaving his family and community in shock and seeking justice.
Cwmbran: A 13-year-old boy was recently robbed in a scary incident. He was just riding his bike when two men approached him with a knife and a hammer.
This all went down in a lane near the Dorallt Inn. The boy had just received the bike as a Christmas gift, and it was worth a whopping £4,500!
His grandfather shared that the boy was held at knife point, which must have been terrifying. Thankfully, he wasn’t hurt, but losing that bike was a big blow.
The robbery happened around 4:30 PM on December 30. The boy was just cruising through when the two men blocked his path and threatened him.
After handing over his bike, the thieves took off. There’s even CCTV footage showing them on a motorbike, which might help the police catch them.
The boy’s grandfather mentioned how shaken up he is. It’s tough for a kid to go through something like that.
On a brighter note, the community has really rallied around the family, offering support and kindness. They’re grateful for all the help they’ve received.
Gwent Police have been contacted for more information on the case. Let’s hope they find those responsible soon!
