Launceston: Traffic is slow on the A30 after a bus fire. The fire caused serious damage to the road. Emergency services arrived at 7:30 PM on February 1. The fire happened between Broadwoodwidger and the A386 junction at Sourton Cross.

Photos show the burnt bus being towed away at night. The intense heat melted parts of the road, making it unsafe. Repairs are needed before the road can reopen. Until then, the area remains dangerous for drivers.

Both sides of the dual carriageway were closed initially. The westbound side has reopened, but the eastbound lane where the fire started is still closed. Repair work is ongoing, causing delays for drivers.

National Highways confirmed they are assessing the road for damage. The burnt bus has been removed, but lane closures continue. Drivers should be cautious when approaching the area.

National Highways: South West tweeted that lane one remains closed on the A30 eastbound. They are checking for damage from the earlier fire. No delays have been reported on approach.
